Spokane is surrounded by a diversity of recreation opportunities. Located just 33 miles from Spokane is Coeur d’Alene Lake, one of the most beautiful in the mountain west with the world’s longest floating boardwalk and an 18-hole shoreline golf course with a floating green.

Immediately north of Spokane are the Selkirk Mountains, where you’ll find all sorts of wild country and a string of small towns along the Pend Oreille River. To the south are the wide-open spaces of the Palouse farmlands; to the west lies a massive desert in the Columbia Basin, along with famous Grand Coulee Dam.
