Further treats include a fully equipped exercise room, sauna and steam room, hydrotherapy pools, tanning booths, massage rooms, library, and one of the finest restaurants in the area. This is a great place for a honeymoon or a getaway weekend; plunk down $849 for a particularly sweet suite.

A strange and wonderful stay is guaranteed at Bethabara Farms Bed and Breakfast (35909 SE 94th St., 425/888-2549, http://bethabarafarms.blogspot.com, $95 s or $125 d), also known as the House in the Trees. This eclectic structure resembles not so much an inn as a stamp mill, but don’t be fooled. The unusual design is brilliantly complemented by the comfortable rooms, the wide and flowery grounds, and the delicious country breakfast served each morning.

Located on five wooded acres, Windsong Farm B&B (515 286th Ave. SE, 425/222-4734) is a charming modern farmhouse with a single guest room. A full breakfast is served. The B&B is a favorite of bird-watchers.

The privately run Snoqualmie River Campground (34807 S.E. 44th Pl., 425/222-5545, www.srcghsg.com, $30 with hookups and dump privileges) in Fall City has 91 RV sites and 31 tent spaces. Tolt MacDonald Park (31020 NE 40th St.) just outside of town has tent sites for $18 per night, RV sites with hookups for $28 per night, or yurts for $40 per night.
