One of Eatonville’s biggest attractions is Northwest Trek Wildlife Park (360/832-6116, www.nwtrek.org, $15 adults, $13.50 seniors, $10 ages 5–17, $7 ages 3–4, free under three). Located on Highway 161 near Eatonville, this 600-acre wildlife park is a refuge for grizzly and black bears, wolves, mountain goats, moose, bighorn sheep, elk, and even a herd of bison.

A tram transports visitors on a six-mile, hour-long tour of the park; also available are five miles of nature trails. Join in a park-sponsored weekend festival, salmon bake, or photo tour.

The park opens at 9:30 a.m. daily Feb.–Oct. and on weekends the rest of the year. Closing times vary between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. The trams leave hourly beginning at 10 a.m.
