Eastsound—like nearly every small town in the U.S.—has a fun parade on the 4th of July, followed by boat races, music, and fireworks.
The first weekend of August brings a popular Orcas Island Fly-In that features many antique planes. It’s followed on the second Saturday of August by the Library Fair (360/376-4985, www.orcaslibrary.org), a big arts and crafts fair and book sale.
Late August and early September is the time for the always-sold-out Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival (360/376-6636, www.oicmf.org).
