Rent mopeds, bikes and surreys from Long Beach Moped (Sid Snyder Dr., just west of the stoplight at Pacific Hwy. 103, 360/289-3830, 9 a.m.–dark daily Memorial Day–mid-Sept., 9 a.m.–dark Fri.–Sun. the rest of the year).
Horse enthusiasts can rent horses for guided beach rides from Skipper’s Equestrian Center (S Blvd. and 10th St., 360/642-3676, $25 per hour) or Back Country Wilderness Outfitters (10th St. S, Long Beach, 360/642-2576, www.backcountryoutfit.com, $20 per hour).
Two local golf courses are open to the public: Peninsula Golf Course (Long Beach, 360/642-2828) and Surfside Golf Course (north of Ocean Park, 360/665-4148).
