Snohomish Grand Valley View B&B (8816 E. Lowell Larimer Rd., 360/668-7096, $95–125 s or d with full breakfast) is a two-story Victorian farmhouse built in 1880. The two guest rooms (private baths) are furnished with antiques. Kids are allowed.

Cadyville Carriage House (304 Avenue A, 360/568-5390, www.cadyvillecarriage.com, $105) is an apartment-style unit that sleeps four. Amenities include a full kitchen stocked for a make-it-yourself breakfast, and a hot tub in the garden.

This is a fine place for a quiet and romantic getaway. Kids accepted.

Hawthorn Inn and Suites (16710 Smokey Point Blvd., at I-5 exit 206, 360/658-7868 or 800/527-1133, www.hawthorn.com, $99–149 s or d) is the newest lodging in town. All rooms include microwaves and fridges, and access to the indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, and hot breakfast buffet.
