Water Sports
The Everett Marina (1720 W Marine View Dr., 425/259-6001, www.portofeverett.com) is the second largest in Puget Sound, with three large guest docks with water and electricity hookups, along with shower, laundry, and restroom facilities. Reservations for moorage ($0.55 per foot per night in winter, $0.75 per foot per night in summer) are accepted during the summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day and on a first-come, first-serve basis the rest of the year. There are also pump-out and dump facilities, a fuel dock, and several restaurants on premises. Guests can stay up to six hours at no charge.
Skippers looking to get their craft into the waters of the Puget Sound should go a couple blocks away to the 10th Street Boat Launch (10th St. and Marine View Dr., 425/259-6001, 4 a.m.–11 p.m. daily Apr.–Sept., 6 a.m.–7 p.m. daily Oct.–Mar., $5 per launch).
If you’re without a boat, Sail Express (1724 W. Marine View Dr., www.sailexpress.com) rents sail boats and offers sailing lessons out of the marina. Also operating out of the marina is Northwest Fishing Charters (206/949-0221, http://nwfishingcharters.com), which offers a standard seven-hour fishing trip for $170 per person, as well as private charters aboard its 28’ boats.
In the summer, you can rent canoes, rowboats, sailboats, and paddleboats from Everett Parks and Recreation Department at Silver Lake (425/257-8300, www.ci.everett.wa.us). This is also a great place to swim and sunbathe in the summertime—a lifeguard is on duty between late June and Labor Day
