Bellingham has a diverse arts community, with a number of fine galleries.
Allied Arts of Whatcom County (1418 Cornwall Ave., 360/676-8548, www.alliedarts.org) has a large gallery. During the first two weekends of November, local artists’ studios are open to the public. Get the full story at www.studiotour.net or call 360/734-9472 for details.
In Barkley Village, Hamann’s Gallery (2940 New Market, 360/733-8898) displays original artwork, etchings, and limited-edition prints.
The Blue Horse Gallery (301 W. Holly St., 360/671-2305) has high-quality works from 20 regional artists.
A few blocks away is Pacific Marine Gallery (700 W. Holly St., 360/738-8535, www.pacificmarineexchange.com), where all the pieces reflect the marine environment.
Located behind the visitors bureau office, Jody Bergsma Gallery (1344 King St., 800/237-4762, www.bergsma.com) shows works of this prolific artist.
