Hiking
The entire Chelan Valley is user-friendly for walkers and runners because the heaviest vehicle traffic is limited to the main routes—Highway 97A, the Chelan-Manson Highway, and the south shore route. Several day hikes are available in the Twenty-Five Mile Creek area; for a complete description of hiking trails around the lake, stop by the Chelan District (428 W. Woodin Avenue).
If you’re just out for a walk and want to enjoy the scenery, one of the nicest paths is at Riverwalk Park. It runs a mile along the Chelan River from the Woodin Avenue bridge to the next bridge downstream and just above the dam. The park has restrooms, a picnic area, and boat launch.
A steep but brief climb is up the cross-topped hill overlooking town, nearby apple orchards, and the lake. The path begins at the intersection of South Saunders Street and East Iowa Avenue.
