Zillah
In business since 1950, El Ranchito (just south of Zillah, 509/829-5880) is fast Mexican food at its meaty best, with no pretense. Order at the counter and wait for your order to arrive on a paper plate. Satisfaction guaranteed, but get here early—it closes at 7 p.m. most nights.
Another popular, long-running Zillah restaurant is Squeeze Inn (611 1st Ave., 509/829-6226), where the breakfasts bring out the coffee klatch crowd, and the dinners of steak, prime rib, and seafood attract folks from all over the valley. Squeeze Inn has been owned by the same family since 1932.
