Also facing the river is Who-Song and Larry’s Cantina (111 E. Columbia Way, 360/695-1198, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Sun.–Thurs., 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Fri.–Sat., bar open until 2 a.m.), where the singing waiters are a local phenomenon.
Wine connoisseurs should make a beeline to Salut! Wine Company (16020 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., Ste. 105, 360/891-5505, www.salutwine.com) on Fridays 5–8 p.m. This well-stocked shop buzzes during these times as the locals flock to partake in the weekly tastings. Salut! also offers special events periodically on Saturday and Thursday, including Introduction to Wine classes that can make a perfect start to a tour of the wineries of central Washington. Call ahead for details, as some events are by reservation only.
