Hotel Castle Maria (Macnamara, 284/494-2553, fax 284/494-2111, $105–110 winter, $90–105 summer) is a 30-room hotel in a shady residential neighborhood outside Road Town, but it’s within walking distance of shops and marinas. The hotel facilities here are adequate, but nothing more. The rooms are small and the decor is shabby, but the neighborhood is pleasant and quiet (with the exception of the roosters). The Hotel Castle Maria is a good alternative if you need to stay near town but don’t want to shell out big bucks for a fancy hotel.
Located on one of Road Town’s busiest commercial streets, the A&L Inn (Flemming St., 284/494-6343, fax 284/494-6656, $130–135) is a good choice if you need affordable but comfortable accommodation in the capital. The inn’s 14 air-conditioned rooms are clean; some have kitchenettes.
