St. Thomas’s marinas are clustered around Charlotte Amalie and the east end. The Yacht Haven Grande (340/774-9500, www.yachthavengrande.com) is located between Havensight and Charlotte Amalie and can accommodate boats up to 450 feet in length. Yacht Haven offers the best of the best when it comes to amenities, including in-slip high-speed communications, provisioning, 24-hour security, catering, florist, dedicated crew facilities, and tennis, just to name a few. This new marina is built on the site of the first Yacht Haven, a once-grand facility badly damaged in Hurricane Marilyn.

Also near Charlotte Amalie, Crown Bay Marina (Gregorie Channel, 340/774-2255, fax 340/776-2760, www.crownbay.com) is a 96-slip full-service marina and host to the annual Charter Yacht Society boat show. There is a chandlery and repair shop plus shops, restaurants, high-speed communication, fuel, water, electricity, and pump-out service. Crown Bay can accommodate vessels of up to 200 feet long and 15-foot drafts.

American Yacht Harbor (Red Hook, 340/775-6454, fax 340/776-5970, www.igy-americanyachtharbor.com) is a 105-slip, full-service marina in the heart of Red Hook. Amenities include refueling, pump-out, communications, ice, water, and electricity. AYH can accommodate boats up to 110 feet long, with a 10-foot draft.

The 67-slip Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina (north of Red Hook, 340/775-6100, ext. 8142) can accommodate boats of up to 65 feet with a 10-foot draft. Pirate’s Cove Marina (Benner’s Bay, 340/774-4655, www.piratescove.vi) is a 30-slip marina across from Food Town grocery store in Estate Fredenhoj. This friendly marina can accommodate boats and has an inn on-site.

Frenchtown Marina (VHF Channel 16, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.) can accommodate vessels 30–150 feet, with depths of up to 18 feet. Water, electricity, and showers are available, and you’re right next to some fantastic dining.
