Frenchtown Deli (Frenchtown Mall, 340/776-7211, 7:30 a.m.–8 p.m. Mon.–Fri., 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Sat., 7:30 a.m.–4 p.m. Sun., $5–9) is the home of some of the best sandwiches and freshest coffee on the island. Grab a bagel here for breakfast, or choose from a thick sandwich or hearty salad at lunch or supper. Linger in the dining room over the morning paper, or pick up a paperback.
A yachtman’s favorite long ago discovered by the rest, Hook, Line and Sinker (2 Hondorus, 340/776-9708, 11:30 a.m.–4 p.m. and 6–10 p.m. Mon.–Sat., 10 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Sun., lunch $9–15, dinner $10–28) is a waterfront restaurant serving lunch and dinner, plus brunch on Sundays. Seafood right off the dock is the specialty, but plenty of people come here for the generous burgers, crisp Greek salad, and liver and onions.
