Opportunities for Study
U.S. Virgin Islands
The University of the Virgin Islands (www.uvi.edu) is a four-year, accredited university with campuses on St. Thomas and St. Croix. Founded in 1963 as the College of the Virgin Islands, UVI offers both bachelor’s and master’s degree opportunities.
British Virgin Islands
H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (www.hlscc.edu.vg) is a two-year college founded in 1990. In addition to earning associate’s degrees, HLSCC students can earn bachelor’s degrees in certain fields through partnerships between HLSCC and other four-year institutions, including UVI. The New England Culinary Institute (www.necibvi.com) has a satellite school attached to HLSCC, and students enroll in a two-year course leading to an associate’s degree in the culinary arts.
The University of the West Indies also has a satellite school on Tortola.
