The campground at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park (435/648-2800, 800/322-3770 for reservations, www.stateparks.utah.gov, $5 per vehicle day use, $15 per vehicle camping) is a pleasant, shady spot, but it can hum with ATV traffic.
On the north edge of the dunes, just north of the state park, the BLM maintains Ponderosa Grove Campground (435/644-4600, www.ut.blm.gov/kanab_fo, $5, no water). From Kanab, head eight miles north on U.S. 89, turn west on Hancock Road (between Mileposts 72 and 73), and continue 7.3 miles to the campground.
The Kanab RV Corral (483 S. 100 East, 435/644-5330, year-round, $28) has RV sites (no tents) with hot showers, a pool, and laundry service. The Hitch’n Post RV Park (196 E. 300 South, 435/644-2142 or 800/458-3516, year-round, $16 tent, $20 and up RV) has sites for both RVs and tents, and has showers.
