Every December for the past 60 years or so, the Winterhaven neighborhood—a tree-lined, relatively upscale enclave in midtown—has draped itself in lights for the benefit of the local food bank.
After the sun goes down residents invite the public to walk their pleasant streets and take in the show; vendors sell trolley and wagon rides around the neighborhood and various edible holiday treats, and sometimes it’s even a bit cold. You might just mistake the whole scene for a sign of winter.
