Once the home of the Grand Ole Opry, the Belcourt Theatre (2102 Belcourt Ave., 615/383-9140, www.belcourt.org) is Nashville’s best venue for independent films. Built in 1925 as a silent movie house, the Belcourt now screens a refreshing variety of independent and unusual films.
More mainstream arty flicks are shown at the Regal Cinemas Green Hills (3815 Green Hills Village, 615/269-5910). Mainstream multiplex cinemas can be found on the outskirts of town in nearly every direction.
