Pigeon Forge is a destination for outlet shopping. Belz Factory Outlet Mall (2655 Teaster Ln., 865/453-7316) houses dozens of name-brand discount stores, such as Bass, Dress Barn, Jockey, and Fossil. Right next door, at the Shoppes of Pigeon Forge (161 E. Wears Valley Rd.) you’ll find Eddie Bauer, J. Crew, and Harry and David.
The Factory Outlet Mall of Pigeon Forge (2850 Parkway) is easily identified by its red roof. Here you’ll find Corningware, Pfaltzgraff, plus clothing and shoe outlets.
Though it is technically located inside Sevierville’s city limits, the Five Oaks Mall (1645 Parkway, Sevierville, 865/453-1053) is Pigeon Forge at heart. Five Oaks is the area’s newest and largest outlet mall, with Old Navy, Gap, Van Heusen, Brooks Brothers, and Reebok, among many others.
Most outlet malls open at 10 a.m. during the winter and 9 a.m. during summer. They usually stay open until sunset.
Pigeon Forge Pottery was a Pigeon Forge institution. In 1946, Douglas Ferguson established the business and over the years he formed a reputation for excellent pottery. Visitors enjoyed watching craftspeople work when they visited the shop, and the Pottery’s famous black bears were collectors items. Ferguson died in 2000, and the pottery was sold to the Old Mill. Today, Pigeon River Pottery (Old Mill Sq., 865/453-1104) sells beautiful handmade pottery in a variety of styles, but you won’t find many of the designs that made the pottery famous in the first place.
