Located on the northeastern side of the Great Smoky Mountains, Cosby is a rural town with services and accommodations for visitors. From the Cosby entrance to the park, you can explore Cosby campground and picnic area, or hike to Hen Wallow Falls, Mount Cammerer, or join up with the Appalachian Trail.
Historically, Cosby was known as a moonshiner’s town. Today, it is home to artists and craftsmen. Near Cosby, the town of Hartford is noted for white-water rafting, and Newport is a center for commerce in the area.
