One of the more interesting venues to pop up in a neighborhood known for quirk, Oi is nothing short of an attempt to recreate the dream experience in nightspot form.
After removing their shoes patrons proceed down a candlelit tunnel that opens up into a vast network of all-white cave and pool-like spaces, with undulating walls and random protrusions taking the place of seats.
It’s something like being inside a vast network of coral, with shifting light patterns and the spacey acid jazz and electronica that dominate the venue’s playlist contributing to the surreal feeling.
Drinks range from extremely pricey bottles of wine to cocktails, coffees, and teas, and a few light Korean and Western nibbles and shisha (water pipes) are also available.
Oi is short on bargains, and a rather standoffish crowd means it’s best to bring your friends with you, but it’s worth checking in for the experience. Themed nights and events such as costume parties are a regular occurrence.
