Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) is served by all major U.S. air carriers. Southwest Airlines runs occasional direct flights from the East and West Coasts; otherwise, you’ll have to fly through a hub. Fares fluctuate on the same schedule as the rest of the country, with higher rates in summer and over holidays. Santa Fe (SAF) has a small municipal airstrip that at press time was set to start receiving flights from Dallas, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City on Delta and American. In general, though, you’re better off taking one of the frequent and not terribly expensive shuttle vans from Albuquerque.
