Gay and lesbian visitors have enjoyed increasing acceptance in Puerto Vallarta for a generation, and now the vast majority of Puerto Vallarta hotels could be termed gay-friendly. Moreover, a number of lodgings welcome gay visitors by advertising in the excellent Gay Guide Vallarta magazine (or online at www.gayguidevallarta.com). At this writing, 15 of these gay-welcoming hotels, bed-and-breakfasts, apartments, and condominium complexes, most of which are gay-owned, sprinkle the Zona Romántica, long popular with a legion of savvy longtime Puerto Vallarta visitors, both straight and gay.
