Fratelli (310 Calle Fortaleza, 787/721-6265, fax 787/729-2238, www.restaurantefratelli.com, Mon.–Sat. 6 p.m. until the place empties, $15–30) is another terrific restaurant from the owners of Baru, this one serving Italian cuisine in a classic Old World setting featuring high ceilings, a graceful archway, potted palms, a fresco on one wall, and a ceiling-high shelf lined with bottles of wine on another.
As at Baru, the artful lighting creates a sumptuous ambiance that encourages you to linger long into the night. The food is superb, especially the fresh pasta made on the premises. Specialties include seafood linguine and risotto, beef and tuna carpaccios, and a Caprese salad that’s almost too pretty to eat. It also has a full bar and extensive wine list.
