If club- and bar-hopping is your thing, you’ve come to the right place. San Juan definitely knows how to party. The most popular nightclubs and bars tend to be in Old San Juan, Condado, Santurce, and Isla Verde. Electronic music is prevalent, as is reggaetón, Puerto Rico’s homegrown brand of hip-hop, combined with Jamaican dancehall and Caribbean musical styles.
The legal drinking age is 18, and there’s no official bar-closing time, so many establishments stay open until 6 a.m. Things don’t really get started until after midnight, so take a disco nap and put on your dancing shoes. It’s sure to be a long fun-filled night.
