Most towns in Puerto Rico are served by at least one taxi service. San Juan has several reliable tourist-taxi services that serve the areas where visitors congregate. It’s possible to flag one down day or night in Isla Verde and Condado, and in Old San Juan, there are two taxi stands—on Plaza de Colón and Plaza de Armas. You can also call one. Operators include Metro Taxi (787/725-2870), Major Taxi (787/723-2460), Rochdale Radio Taxi (787/721-1900), and Capetillo Taxi (787/758-7000).

Fares between the airport and the piers in Old San Juan are fixed rates. From the airport, the rates are $10 to Isla Verde, $14 to Condado, and $19 to Old San Juan. From the piers, the rates are $12 to Condado, $19 to Isla Verde. Metered fares are $3 minimum, $1.75 initial charge, and $0.10 every 19th of a mile. The first three pieces of luggage are $0.50; additional luggage is $1 per piece. Customers pay all road tolls.
