Perched on a hill above a gurgling stream, this is definitely the place to go to get away from it all. Amenities are few (no TV!) beyond balconies and hammocks. You can buy sack lunches for $7, and dinner is served if six or more guests request it by 1 p.m. ($18 per person). In-room massages are available.

The gated property features a yellow-and-adobe-colored complex containing 99 cabanas and villas. Only the villas are air-conditioned, but both cabanas and villas have full kitchens. Linens, towels, and cooking utensils are not provided. Amenities include tennis courts, a playground, a pool with a waterslide, and lovely shady grounds featuring almond trees, palms, and flamboyans.
