The Borgata (Scottsdale Rd. and Lincoln Rd., downtown, 602/953-6538, 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Mon.–Sat., noon–6 p.m. Sun.) is an intimate destination for shoppers who would prefer to avoid the crowds and big-name stores at Scottsdale Fashion Square. Inspired by the Italian hillside town of Borgata, the open-air mall’s stone walls and turrets may look a little out of place in Scottsdale, but its 30 upscale shops, galleries, and restaurants are convenient options for visitors staying in Paradise Valley.
The eco-friendly Twig & Twill Boutique showcases organic maternity wear, children’s apparel, and linens, many of which support environmental causes, while small resort wear boutiques like Fresh Produce, The Beach House Swimwear, and Lilly Pulitzer’s Pink Paradise round out the retail offerings. There is live jazz on Friday evenings, and events are often scheduled for the weekends.
