Don and Charlie’s Steakhouse (7501 E. Camelback Rd., 480/990-0900, www.donandcharlies.com, 5–9:30 p.m. Mon.–Sat., 5–9 p.m. Sun., $15–45) woos sports-history and red-meat aficionados alike. The upscale eatery is adorned with rich, dark woods and enough sports memorabilia and autographs to make Bob Costas’s head spin. The Ned Colletti Chicken Schnitzel or the ribeye steak is a perfect accompaniment to a stiff cocktail from the full bar. Don’t let the sports memorabilia fool you; Don and Charlie’s is an old-Scottsdale gem, and the perfect place to fill your belly and lighten your wallet after a round of golf or a spring training baseball game.

Mastros City Hall Steakhouse (6991 E. Camelback Rd., 480/941-4700, www.cityhallsteakhouse.com, 5–10 p.m. Sun.–Thurs., 5–11 p.m. Fri.–Sat., $30–75) serves all the classics you’d expect at a high-end steakhouse: lobster cocktails, oysters Rockefeller, and a host of filets, poterhouses, ribeyes, and chops. The side dishes—sautéed asparagus, creamed spinach, au gratin potatoes—are ordered family style. The happening bar, which often has live music, attracts singles of all ages in the evenings.
