This small French bistro occupies a prime corner just off South Street in the Queen Village neighborhood. Large windows, an attractive bar, and a hexagonal-pattered tile floor create a casual but stylish mood.
Opened in 2007 by the same chef-owner as Center City’s long-established Sansom St. Oyster House, Coquette offers a fresh raw bar packed with, yes, oysters—one of owner Neff’s obvious specialties. It also serves excellent French classics like onion soup, Niçoise salad, and cassoulet.
Brunch features classic breakfast fare with French influences like quiche and omelettes with caramelized onions, and a late-night menu is served until 1 a.m. on weekends; dinner ends at 10:30 p.m.
