Lakeside Chinese Deli $
Trip Ideas
207 N. 9th St., 215/925-3288
HOURS: Mon.–Wed. and Fri.–Sun. 11 a.m.–8 p.m.
COST: Most entrées less than $10
A Chinatown favorite for cheap and delicious dim sum, Lakeside is not a deli, but it is a great place to grab a snack, a quick lunch, or dinner. Noodle soups and other entrées are also good, but less popular than dim sum (which costs a quarter more per item at dinner).
At prices of around $1 for most, it’s still a great deal, plus you can BYOB.
Unlike some places where you choose pre-made dim sum from the cart, they bring it out of the kitchen made to order, but if you can’t decide what to order, the servers will usually make excellent suggestions.
