Just four long blocks from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the North Star Bar offers a full bar menu and pool tables in the front area, but is cherished for its eclectic line-up of reasonably priced live shows several nights a week. Nothing to look at from the outside, the stage area offers great acoustics and a 2nd-story balcony that practically overhangs the stage.
Catching a cab after the show can be tough at this somewhat isolated corner in the Fairmount neighborhood; ask the bartenders to call one for you.
