This restored 1865 Victorian mansion has only six beautifully appointed rooms ($145–190), including two suites. Located near the campuses of the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel, it offers a nice alternative to visiting parents or students in town to check out the schools. The wraparound porch surrounded by a lovely garden is the setting, weather permitting, for a wine-and-cheese hour on Saturday 5–6 p.m.

Rooms have a mix of antique and contemporary furniture, and include modern amenities like large flat-screen televisions. A full breakfast is served in the dining room, but if you’re in a rush in the morning they will pack it to go at your advance request.
