Taxis
Trip Ideas
It’s usually easy to hail a taxi anywhere in Center City, but the best places to find one is in front of a hotel or on any busy corner. Rides are metered, with the exception of the flat fee of $26.25 for trips between Center City and the airport. If you’re in an area without a lot of activity, it’s best to call a cab and go outside when it arrives. It generally shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes, except during rain showers or at 2 a.m. when the bars close and everyone is clamoring for one. Fares are regulated, and taxis should always have a meter running so you can see how much you’re paying. Fares are based on distance traveled with small increases for wait time during traffic. Your driver should be able to give you an estimate of how much it will cost to get to a specific destination.
