The year 2002 was a great one for moviegoers in Philly, because The Bridge: Cinema de Lux opened its doors in University City. No longer did we have to brave the sticky floors and stinky bathrooms of the Riverview on Columbus Boulevard or drive out to a mega-mall in the suburbs or, heaven forbid, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, to see a first-run blockbuster.
The clean, spacious Bridge offers plush stadium seating, a specialty coffee bar, and a lounge where you can grab a salad, sandwich, pizza, or even a martini before the screening. Conveniently located near plenty of dining options, it’s ideal for a dinner-and-a-movie date. It’s good that movies require silence, because, frankly, we’re speechless.
