The building dates back to 1865, but it wasn’t until 1961 that it opened as a boxing venue. The Legendary Blue Horizon became one of the country’s finest and most famous boxing institutions. The oldest boxing ring operating today, it has earned the “Legendary” in its title by housing many of the greatest Philadelphia fights in history.
It has become a landmark center for training, education, and community participation, and the best boxers and teachers from the city and beyond train, fight, and teach here throughout the year.
Come out for “fight night” to see the purest showcase of boxing available anywhere today. The Blue Horizon has been voted the “#1 Boxing Venue in the World” by Ring magazine and the “last boxing venue in the country” by Sports Illustrated Magazine.
