If you see a lot of bleary eyes in Center City in March or July, it’s not because a new after-hours club just opened. Movie lovers have probably been taking advantage of the Philadelphia Film Festival or its midsummer sibling, the Philadelphia International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
Programmed by TLA Entertainment Group and its independent nonprofit Philadelphia Film Society, both fests are huge affairs with hundreds of screenings across multiple venues, guest stars, VIP meet-and-greets, and of course, loads of parties and events. In case of back-to-back screenings, don’t forget the Visine.
