The budget hotels are all pretty standard in Moyobamba, and the best options one can be found along Alonso de Alvarado.
Residencial Albricias (Alonso de Alvarado 1066, tel. 042/56-1092, www.moyobambaperu.com/albricias, US$11 s, US$18 d) has hot water, clean rooms, gardens, cable TV, WiFi, and kitchen facilities.
Hostal Atlanta (Alonso de Alvarado 865, tel. 042/56-2063, atlantainn [at] hotmail [dot] com, US$11 s, US$16 d) is also safe, clean, and quiet with hot water, cable TV, and Internet.
La Cueva de Juan (Alonso de Alvarado 870, tel. 042/56-2488, lacueva870 [at] hotmail [dot] com, US$11 s, US$18 d) is a third and good option with spartan but clean rooms, hot water, cable TV, garage, and a small café.
A mid-budget option is Río Mayo Moyobamba Hotel (Pedro Canga 415, tel. 042/56-4193, www.riomayo.com, US$29 s, US$39 d with buffet breakfast), a quite modern hotel with swimming pool, laundry service, garage, Internet, and a café/restaurant.
The resort option in Moyobamba is Hotel Puerto Mirador (Sucre s/n, tel. 042/56-2050, www.hotelpuertomirador.com, US$30 s, US$54 d with breakfast). In a peaceful setting on the outskirts of town, this hotel offers brick bungalows and a swimming pool overlooking the Río Mayo. Rooms are large with cable TV and private terraces surrounded by generous amounts of green. The main lodge has access to WiFi, a good restaurant, and a full bar. The hotel offers tours to various lakes, waterfalls, and thermal baths, as well as boat tours on the Río Mayo.
