First-time visitors to Miraflores, promenading the malecón, are sometimes surprised to find a paraglider just meters above their heads, zipping back and forth along the oceanfront bluffs. Although the thrill is short lived, paragliding does offer an excellent alternative viewpoint of Lima.
One recommended operator is Peru Fly (Jorge Chávez 658, Miraflores, tel. 01/444-5004, www.perufly.com) organizes flights in Lima and Paracas and also offers six-day, basic-training courses.
