Peruvian cuisine has an extraordinary range of flavors and ingredients, and nowhere is that more evident than Lima. The range of high-quality restaurants is extraordinary. The best lunch deal is always the fixed-price menú, which typically includes three well-prepared courses. Upscale restaurants tack on a 10 percent service charge and an 18 percent value-added tax.
The center has good budget eateries, including some of the best chifa (Chinese-Peruvian food) in town. San Isidro and Miraflores have the most interesting and refined restaurants, where dozens of Cordon Bleu–trained chefs busily cater to their refined Lima clientele.
