Health and Safety
It pays to think ahead about your health before traveling to Peru. With the right vaccinations, a little bit of education, and a lot of common sense, the worst that happens to most visitors is a bit of traveler’s diarrhea.
Things get more complicated if you decide to visit the jungle, because Peru, like parts of Africa and Asia, lies in the tropical zone. Travelers who visit the Amazon should be vaccinated against yellow fever, be taking malarial medicine, and take full precautions against mosquitoes.
