Aufderheide National Scenic Byway

One of the nation’s first 50 National Scenic Byways, the 58-mile Aufderheide Drive links Route 126 to Route 58 near Oakridge. You’ll find the Aufderheide turnoff (Forest Service Rd. 19) at mile marker 45.9 about 5 miles east of Blue River.
The road winds along the south fork of the McKenzie River, crests the pass, and then follows the north fork of the middle fork of the Willamette River down to Oakridge and Route 58.
Sights along the way include the Delta Old-Growth Grove Nature Trail, Terwilliger (a.k.a. Cougar) Hot Springs, the spectacular Willamette River Gorge, and the Westfir covered bridge.
