The flower-bedecked Rose City Motel (1142 NE Stephens St., 541/673-8209, $69 and up) is an old-fashioned motor court motel that is very well-maintained, with full kitchens and a very friendly welcome.

For comfortable pet-friendly accommodations with laundry, a restaurant-lounge, and a pool, head for the Windmill Inn (1450 NW Mulholland Dr., 541/673-0901 or 800/547-4747, www.windmillinns.com, $79 and up).
Best Western Garden Villa Motel (760 NW Garden Valley Blvd., 541/672-1601 or 800/547-3446, $109 and up) has a pool, a business center, and continental breakfast included.
Armacher County Park (541/672-4901, $15–20), is 5 miles north of town directly beneath I-5 on Exit 129. Twin Rivers Vacation Park (433 Rivers Forks Rd., 541/673-3811, $18–25), is 6 miles out of town off I-5 Exit 125, where the north and south forks of the Umpqua converge. Water, electricity, waste disposal, showers, and a coin-op laundry are available at this 85-site park.
