A few blocks north of the NE Broadway restaurant row, Acadia (1303 NE Fremont St., 503/249-5001, 5–10 p.m. Mon.–Tues., 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 5–10 p.m. Wed., 5–10 p.m. Thurs.–Sat., 4–9 p.m. Sun., $14–20) is a cozy and elegant outpost of New Orleans–style fine dining. Come here for fantastic “barbecue” shrimp, one of the city’s best filet mignons, and an original pasta jambalaya. A good deal here is the $25 three-course menu, available weeknights and on weekends before 6 p.m. and after 9 p.m.
