Educational programs and interpretive exhibits, including a nature trail and a botanical garden, help orient visitors to the high desert ecology of the area around Sunriver. The Sunriver Nature Center (River Rd., Sunriver, 541/593-4394, www.sunrivernaturecenter.org) is also home to an observatory, which hosts Friday night “Dinner under the Stars” events throughout the summer.
Classes are held for both kids and adults, and there are also summertime day camps for children; all focus on nature and science.
