In Huatulco as in other resorts, hotels on the beach are the priciest. Tangolunda’s are most expensive, Santa Cruz and Chahue hotels fall in between, and Crucecita’s hotels are the cheapest.
Virtually all Huatulco lodgings are of modern standard, with private baths with hot water. Many, but not all, have air conditioning, a plus, especially in the warm spring. More information about most of the hotels listed is available through the Huatulco Hotel and Motel Association (toll-free U.S. and Canada tel. 866/416-0555, local tel. 958/581-0486, fax 958/581-0487, info [at] hoteleshuatulco [dot] com [dot] mx, www.hoteleshuatulco.com.mx).
Huatulco accommodation rates are highly seasonal. Recommended hotels are arranged by the customary low-season rates, which rise anywhere between 20 percent and 100 percent, according to demand, during the high Christmas–New Year and Easter seasons and some puente (bridge) three-to-five-day holiday weekends.
