Jalieza (Centro de Artesanias, Plaza Principal, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. daily) is known as the town of embroidered cinturones (belts). Townsfolk, virtually all of whom practice the craft, concentrate all of their selling in a single many-stalled market in the middle of town.
Step inside and you’ll be tempted not only by hundreds of hand-embroidered leather belts, but also by a wealth of lovely hand-loomed and embroidered purses, shawls, dresses, blouses, small backpacks, and much more. Furthermore, asking prices are very reasonable.
