The 30-room Vinehurst Inn (Rte. 54, 607/569-2300, $84 d, discounted weekly rates) features spacious motel rooms, many with cathedral ceilings, friendly service and included cont. breakfast. Some whirlpool suites and apartments available ($119–149).
Lake & Vine Bed and Breakfast (61 Lake Street, lakeandvinebb.info, 607/569-3282 $125–145), a newly remodeled 1868 Queen Anne style home offers four rooms, candlelit gourmet breakfast served with china and crystal and many modern amenities.
Elmcroft Manor Bed and Breakfast(8361 Pleasant Valley Road, 607/569-3071, www.elmcroftmanor.com $200–300), an 1832 impressive Greek Revival mansion with nicely landscaped garden and grounds, features upscale Italian-themed accommodations stocked with quality amenities and complimentary cheese and crackers, fruit juices and sweets.
For a bit of novelty, 15 miles away in the village of Avoca is the storybook Caboose Motel (8620 Rte. 415, off Rte. 390, 607/566-2216). Here, you can sleep in snug, restored 1916 train cabooses outfitted with all the modern conveniences and kept in trim shape ($85–90).
In addition to its mouth-watering ice-cream treats, the cozy Crooked Lake Ice Cream Parlor (on the Village Square, 607/569-2751) serves a good breakfast and lunch. Greenhouse Cday.
In the center of Bluff Point stands the Garrett Memorial Chapel, a lovely Gothic-style sanctuary built in memory of Charles Garrett, the son of a wealthy winemaker, who died of tuberculosis in his twenties.
From Bluff Point south, between Keuka’s arms, runs the eight-mile-long Skyline Drive.
