Radio City Music Hall

Despite, or perhaps because of, its dated feel, this art deco landmark (6th Ave. and 50th St., www.radiocity.com) has been bringing them back for generations. An over-the-top creation with a stage as wide as a city block, Radio City Music Hall is the world’s largest indoor theater.
Though the Music Hall has hosted many unusual performers over the years—including elephants and horses—its most famous are the Rockettes. Chorus girls all between five feet four inches and five feet seven inches in height, the Rockettes once appeared nightly. Now they kick and strut their stuff only during the Music Hall’s two-month-long Christmas show.
One-hour backstage tours (212/247-4777, www.radiocity.com, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. daily in summer, call for winter hours, adults $17, seniors $14, children under 12 $11) are offered.
