Potter Robert Compton and wife Christine are the forces behind Robert Compton Pottery (2662 N. Rte. 116, Bristol, 802/453-3778, www.robertcomptonpottery.com, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. daily, closed Wed., mid-May–mid-Oct.), a showroom and studio filled with pieces the artist has created with a salt glaze—a special process that introduces salt into the kiln at extremely high temperatures.
